This family-friendly haven offers stunning ocean views and exceptional service.  We loved the rooftop pool and found the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay with our toddler truly memorable.

  • Price Range: $$ (Moderate to high)

  • Perfect For: Families, luxury travelers

2.Samura Maldives-Balinese Style Luxury

Samura Maldives-Little Oasis

Wonderful little oasis on the Bikini Beach. Absolutely perfect. Experience a slice of Bali on Bikini Beach! Samura Maldives offers charming Balinese-style accommodations and a relax atmosphere curated by the passionate manager, Giacomo. Relax by the ocean and soak in the breathtaking views

  • Price Range: $$ (Starting from $150 per night)

  • Perfect For: Couples, solo travelers seeking tranquility, honeymooners

3. MET House

Samura and MET are located next to each other on Bikini Beach in Thulusdhoo. The atmosphere is similar, and I can't really distinguish any differences, except for the fact that Giacomo, the owner of Samura, is always available when you need assistance.

  • Price Range: $$ (Starting from $150 per night)

  • Perfect For: Couples, solo travelers seeking tranquility, honeymooners

Good:

4. Reef Edge-Delicious Dining Options

The staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is lovely, just a 5-minute walk from Bikini Beach. The view is really nice. The room is not large, but you probably won't spend much time there anyway. Both breakfast and dinner are excellent, some of the best on the island.

  • Price Range: $ (Starting from $80 per night)

  • Perfect For: Budget travelers, surfers, those who prioritize good food and friendly service

5. Villa Kudi

Charming local guesthouse located in the heart of the island (meaning you won't have an ocean view). The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the kitchen is good.

  • Price Range: $ (Starting from $60 per night)

  • Perfect For: Budget travelers, families, backpackers, those seeking a local experience

There are many lovely guest houses on the island like Dhodi, Twin Surf, Zen, and Canopus (they are building a new hotel next to their guesthouse so it's noisy and messy at the moment, 2024), but for my personal preferences, these were the best and where I spent most of my time during my journey.

Hotels to Avoid

Si Coral INN:  Unfortunately, my experience at Si Coral INN was disappointing. The quality did not match the advertised 4-star rating, and I would not recommend it.

What to Expect:

  • Simple Accommodations: Don't expect luxury resorts, but you'll find clean and comfortable rooms.

  • Local Cuisine: Enjoy delicious Maldivian dishes at local cafés and restaurants.

  • Friendly Locals: Experience the warm hospitality of the island's residents.

  • Stunning Beaches: Relax on Thulusdhoo beautiful beaches and soak up the sun.

Additional Tips:

  • Bring Cash: Some smaller establishments may not accept credit cards.

  • Pack Light:  There's no need to overpack for this laid-back island.

  • Respect Local Customs: Dress modestly and avoid public displays of affection.

Thulusdhoo proves that a Maldives vacation doesn't have to be expensive. With a little planning, you can experience the beauty of this paradise island without breaking the bank.

Let me know if you'd like more details on any of the hotels, or want recommendations on local activities and restaurants!
